NEW Riverland Home Improvement Store

XMAS Trees

Stratco SA has purchased 500 Christmas trees from Make-A-Wish Australia and, from December 7 this year, will be giving them away to the first 500 customers in South Australia who spend over $500!

But don't worry if you miss out - the Make-A-Wish Australia will be selling live Christmas trees from the carparks of the Gepps Cross, St Agnes and Lonsdale stores throughout December.

Make-A-Wish Australia brings magic and joy to children and young people with a life-threatening illness by granting their most cherished wishes.

2008 Calendars

Stratco's 'Water for the World' initiative continues to raise funds for global water projects. We’ve recently teamed up with World Vision and have had great success with raising funds to purchase water tanks for underprivileged schools in Uganda.

Keen to do more, the team at Stratco have come up with a fantastic 2008 Calendar, from which 100% of the proceeds will go to World Vision’s Masaka Water Project.

MASAKA WATER PROJECT

Improve resource management and access to clean water in Uganda.

In 1999, a government survey found that only 28% of the population of Masaka district had access to clean and safe water. This rises slightly to 34% within the communities with whom World Vision partners.

To help these communities make it through the dry spells, World Vision plans to improve knowledge of water harvesting and environmental management techniques. To ensure that water is safe to drink, we will work with communities to improve access to clean water and effective sanitation.

Masaka Water Project:

The Masaka Water Project will improve the lives of more than 23,000 people through construction of essential water infrastructure and introduction of new techniques for land and water management. The project has been designed in cooperation with communities in the project area.

Water infrastructure will include new wells, boreholes and the protection of surface water supplies such as springs, as well as improved water storage by households. All water systems, both existing and new, will come under the management of villagebased water committees. These committees will coordinate community participation in planning and construction of water infrastructure. Training for selected community members will ensure that the communities have the skills to manage the water source, and that water sources remain functional through regular maintenance.

Ten schools will benefit from the installation of readymade water tanks. Water will be piped into these tanks using new rain harvesting techniques. Students and teachers will access the water using a tap at the bottom of the tank.

Stratco and Oxfam working together

Stratco and Oxfam Australia worked together to provide water to 500 families in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Country Facts:

• Population 20.4 million
• 22% of the population do not have access to clean and safe water
• 29% of children aged under five years are underweight
• 50.7% of the population lives on less than US$2 a day
• 25% of the population lives under the poverty line

$5 from every Stratco Modular Rainwater Tank went directly to Oxfam Australia's Sri Lankan water rehabilitation program.

In 2007 over $20,000 was donated from the sale of water tanks to provide clean water to communities in Sri Lanka 's Hambantota district.

Stratco Outback Sunroof & Outback Curved Roof

Stratco are excited to announce the addition of two new products to the popular Outback range of verandahs and patios. Outback Sunroof
The innovative Outback Sunroof features electronically controlled louvres that can be opened and closed to the desired position. Let the breeze and sunlight in when the weather is fine; keep the rain and wind out when the clouds set in.

Louvres are controlled by an easy to use remote control. Open the louvres for complete overhead sun, or partially close the louvres to shade and protect the covered area, yet also allow adequate ventilation. When in the closed position the louvres form an interlocking profile that provides protection from the rain. A handy feature of the Sunroof is the rain sensor that automatically closes the louvres when rain is detected.

Outback Curved Roof
The stylish new Outback Curved Roof verandah will create an impressive visual effect for your home. It is available attached to the home or as a freestanding unit which makes it ideal for a wide range of applications; anything from a covered walkway to the main feature of an entertaining area.

The maximum opening width for the curved roof is an impressive 6.6 metres, with the minimum opening 1.2 metres. The size of the radius can be used to create unique visual effects, as can the roofing material.
