Stratco Green Zone - Rainwater Calculator
Our rainwater calculator helps you select a tank that is best for your situation. To use this calculator first enter your post code and your total catchment (roof) area in square metres. This information determines the amount of rain water that can be collected from your roof. Mean monthly rainfall data used in this calculation has been obtained from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology for the period 1987 to 2008. These values can be adjusted using a Discount Factor to allow for climatic changes, if required.
Use the Rainwater Tank Selector to select a rainwater tank from our extensive range of quality rainwater tanks. Then input your monthly water usage from your water bills. If this is not available you can estimate your consumption using our calculator. To do so input the number of people in your household and your water usage around the house (shower, bath, toilet, etc). Your usage is summarised on the right hand side of the screen.
By changing the tank size, the chart displays the amount of water left in your tank at the end of each month. Ultimately you want a tank that will not fill up too quickly. This way you will be able to collect as much water during the rain season for the rest of the year. Your tank size also depends on the available room on your property. Stratco rainwater tanks come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, and you can select the appropriate tank by taking its dimensions into account.
Finally you can see a summary of the total rainwater you are likely to collect, an estimated annual consumption and your water savings in litres and as a percentage of your total consumption. For the purpose of this calculation, it is assumed that you commence using your rainwater tank one month after its installation.
Please print a summary of this report to take with you to your nearest Stratco Home Improvement store for a more comprehensive consultation and pricing information.
