HowTo Assemble Your Handi-Locker Wall Mount Garden Shed

The Handi-Locker Wall Mount Shed is a compact, elevated storage solution designed to mount directly to a wall and keep your gear safe from the Australian sun and elements. With dual sliding doors and secure locking hardware, it’s ideal for tight spaces such as down the sides of homes, courtyards, garages and service areas where traditional sheds are not practical.

This guide walks you through the full installation process, from unpacking through to final anchoring and lock installation. The steps align with the official installation instructions and steps outlined in the installation video.

If you’re comfortable using power tools and following clear instructions, this is a very achievable DIY project.

Before You Begin

  1. Confirm All Components Are Supplied
Unpack all cartons and check components and fixings against the parts list in the installation guide.
  2. Remove Protective Wrapping
Remove all plastic film from sheets and channels to avoid scratches during assembly.
  3. Prepare Your Workspace
Set up trestles or a work table to support sheets during assembly. Ensure the working area is flat and well-lit.

Step 1: Assemble The Shed's Side Wall Sheets

  1. Lay the Right Side Wall Sheet flat on the trestles/work table.
Note that the top edge of the sheet is cut at an angle.
  2. Fit the Wall Channels over the edges of the sheet.
  3. Fasten through the third pilot hole at each end into the wall sheet crests using 10x16 hex head screws.
  4. Ensure the wall channel ends fit tightly against the ends of the sheet.
  5. Fit the Wall Mount Channel over the side wall sheet so the channel end sits hard against the wall channel.
  6. Secure with four coloured 10x16 hex head screws through the pilot holes.
  7. Flip the sheet over and install two additional coloured screws into each end of the wall mount channel.
  8. Repeat the full process for the Left Side Wall Sheet.

Step 2: Assemble The Front Wall Channels And Sliding Rails

  1. Slide the Bottom Channels over the Bottom Channel Joiner and align the four centre pre-punched holes.
  2. Secure using four 10x16 hex head screws.
  3. Slide the Sliding Rails over the Sliding Rail Joiner and align all pilot holes.
  4. Secure using sixteen 10x16 hex head screws.
  5. Lay the two Split Wall Sheets flat on trestles.
  6. Fit the Bottom Channel Assembly over the wall sheets and align the third pilot hole with the sheet crest.
  7. Fasten one 10x16 self-drilling screw through the third pilot hole into the sheet.
  8. Install a second screw into the inner crest and repeat on the opposite side.
  9. Fit the Sliding Rail Assembly over the sheets and repeat the same fixing pattern.
  10. Install a Door Jamb into the channel assemblies and secure using four 10x16 hex head screws.
  11. Repeat for the second Door Jamb.
  12. Flip the Front Wall Assembly and secure additional screws into the ends of each door jamb.

Step 3: Assemble The Dual Sliding Doors

  1. Fix the Door Wheels to the Top Door Channel using door nuts.
  2. Fit the Handle Mounts into the Vertical Door Channel and secure using wafer head screws.
  3. Lay the Door Sheet and Split Door Sheet flat.
  4. Fit the Vertical Door Channels over the sides of the sheets.
  5. Fit the Top and Bottom Door Channels, ensuring the channel lips overlap correctly.
  6. Secure all four corners with wafer head screws.
  7. Drill through the handle mount pilot holes using a 3.5mm drill bit and rivet the handle mount into position.
  8. Flip the door assembly and secure additional corner fixings.
  9. Install extra screws near the door wheels and mid-points of the bottom channel as specified.
  10. Repeat the entire process for the second door using the opposite handle mount.

Step 4: Mount The Side Walls To The Building

  1. Confirm the final shed location against the wall.
  2. Position the Left Side Wall Assembly in place.
  3. Use a spirit level to ensure the wall is square and vertical. Mark three pilot holes.
  4. Drill 10mm holes using a masonry drill bit.
  5. Apply a bead of silicone to the Wall Mount Channel.
  6. Secure the wall using three M10x47 masonry anchors.
  7. Position the Roof Mount Channels together and measure the spacing required between wall faces.
  8. Install the Right Side Wall Assembly at the measured spacing and secure using masonry anchors.
  9. Ensure both roof channels align with the wall mount channels and are straight and level.
  10. Mark, drill, apply silicone and secure the Roof Mount Channels using M10x47 masonry anchors.

Step 5: Install The Front Wall Assembly

  1. Fit the Left Side Wall Assembly over the Front Split Wall Sheet.
  2. Install corner brackets at the bottom and top wall channels using four hex head screws per bracket.
  3. Repeat on the opposite side.
  4. Secure the sliding rail assemblies using two screws per rail.
  5. Fit the Runner Rails over the bottom channels and align with the corner brackets.
  6. Secure each runner rail using two hex head screws.
  7. Fit the Gutter over the sliding rail assembly and secure.
  8. Apply silicone to the underside of the Gutter Joiner and install.
  9. Rivet the gutter joiner in place.
  10. Fit the Rail Infill and secure using wafer head screws.

Step 6: Anchor The Base To The Concrete

  1. Using the corner bracket holes as guides, drill 10mm holes into the concrete base.
  2. Secure both corner brackets using M8x47 masonry anchors.
  3. Drill two additional holes through the bottom wall channel into the concrete.
  4. Secure the bottom wall channel using masonry anchors.

This anchoring ensures long-term stability and wind resistance.

Step 7: Install Doors And Door Stops

  1. Fasten both Door Shrouds to the Runner Rails.
  2. Slide the Left Door into the sliding and runner rails.
  3. Repeat for the Right Door.
  4. Install Door Stops at the centre and both ends of the sliding rail assembly using wafer head screws.

Step 8: Install Roof Sheets And Barge Caps

  1. Use a shifting spanner to turn up the pans at the roof mount end of the roof sheets.
  2. Fit the roof sheets into the roof mount channels.
  3. Ensure sheets are aligned correctly against the channel edges.
  4. Fasten coloured hex head screws with neo washers through the roof mount channel and roof sheet pans as specified.
  5. Ensure fixings are installed on both sides of all sheet laps.
  6. Remove any metal swarf.
  7. Fit the Front Barge Caps against the gutter, maintaining a 10mm clearance.
  8. Secure using coloured hex head screws.
  9. Install the Left and Right Barge Caps and secure.

Step 9: Install Locking Hardware

  1. Position the Staple against the Handle Mount and secure using wafer head screws.
  2. Fit the Hasp over the Staple to locate the correct position and secure.
  3. Install coloured rivets at all sheet laps.
  4. Align and secure the Padbolt to the door.
  5. Mark and drill through the Door Shroud where the padbolt meets.
  6. Enlarge the hole incrementally using 6mm and 12mm drill bits.
  7. Test the locking operation to ensure smooth engagement.

Final Checks Of Your Shed

  1. Confirm all fixings are tight.
  2. Check that the shed is square and level.
  3. Ensure doors slide freely and lock securely.
  4. Clean down all surfaces.

Once complete, your Handi-Locker Wall Mount Shed is ready to use and delivers secure, elevated storage in compact spaces. We recommend applying a waterproof silicone sealant where the shed meets the masonry wall, especially in high rainfall areas or for older, uneven masonry. In severe open environments, an additional wall-to-shed apron flashing could be ordered and installed to reduce the risk of water ingress.
