Assembling Your New Stratco Garden Bed
Once you’ve selected your new garden bed, our easy-to-follow installation guides will help you bring your project to life. Simply click on the links below to find the instructions for your chosen model and get started.
Before You Start: What You Need
Before assembling your garden bed:
- Gather basic tools: cordless drill or screwdriver, spanner or socket set (if required), rubber mallet, spirit level, and tape measure.
- Clear and level the ground or base where the bed will sit. If placing on pavers, slab or deck - ensure it’s level and stable.
- Check your delivery items against the parts list - confirm all panels, screws, liners, or accessories are present before you begin.
- For beds on soil: consider using a weed-mat or geotextile liner and ensure good drainage for healthy plants.
General Assembly Tips (Works Across Most Models)
- Unpack carefully and protect metal surfaces - wipe away any metal swarf as you go to avoid corrosion.
- Work on a flat surface (e.g. timber offcuts, trestles or a scrappy floor board) rather than directly on grass/soil - makes aligning and riveting easier.
- Always pre-drill holes if required (especially when connecting multiple panels), to avoid stress on the metal.
- Tighten screws/bolts only after all components are loosely positioned - helps with alignment and ensures everything lines up correctly.
- Have a friend on hand - many garden beds are best assembled with two pairs of hands, especially when lifting or aligning long panels.
Accessories & Growing Prep
Once your garden bed is assembled and placed:
- Add a layer of weed-mat or geotextile liner (if not already supplied) to protect soil from weeds and encourage drainage.
- Fill with quality garden mix or compost.
- Add optional accessories: plant supports, trellis frames, covers, mulching fabric, or garden bed lids (if your range includes them).
- Consider investing in soil amendments (compost, manure, fertiliser) to give your plants the best start.
