What You’ll Need
To get started, you’ll need your Garden Up Mix’n’Match Mesh Grid, Garden Up Mix’n’Match Hooks, and some of the Garden Up Mix’n’Match pots. The beauty of this is that you can arrange and design it however you like! To install the mesh grid and get your vertical garden up and running, you’ll also need a few tools:
- Spirit Level
- Tape Measure
- Pencil
- Drill
- Panhead Screws
- Premium Potting Mix
- Watering Can
Step 1: Place your mesh
Get started by grabbing your Garden Up Mix’n’Match Mesh Grid and holding it up where you’re thinking of placing it. Use your spirit level to ensure it's straight and level. Using the pencil, mark where your screws should go.
Step 2: Mount it
Grab your drill and some screw. Making sure to keep the mesh grid's holes lined up with your pencil marks, securely mount the mesh grid by screwing it in place.
Step 3: It’s Planting Time
With our mesh grid ready for some pots, we better get some plants ready. Start by placing the water-saving insert into the bottom of each Mix’n’Match pot. Fill the bottom of the pot with some potting mix, followed by your plants, flowers, herbs, or vegetables of choice, topped off with some more potting mix to ensure it's snug and secure.
Step 4: Don’t forget to water!
Before we go hanging and designing our vertical gardens, don’t forget to give the pots some water so the new inhabitants are well-hydrated. Don’t be afraid to use some liquid fertiliser to help them grow either!
Step 5: Fill your vertical garden
Now we need to grab our Mix’n’Match hooks and fill our vertical garden. Match the hooks with the correct shape of your pots. It’s as simple as snapping the hooks on at the back of the pot and then sliding them in from both ends. Design and rearrange your vertical garden however you see fit!
