Sanctuary Patio Kit FAQs
The Sanctuary® Patio Kit includes 140mm Sanctuary® Framing, Prodek® Roofing, SHS Columns, square profile gutter on the front, side barge capping, PVC downpipe and associated fixings. The attached design will also include the back channel for attachment to the house or fixed walls.
There are two standard freestanding Sanctuary Patio Kit sizes, suitable for use as a single-carport or double-carport solution.
When building your Sanctuary® Patio Kit, you may require extra materials depending on the installation type:
- Fascia reinforcing brackets and fixing bolts for attachment to a house fascia
- Fixing bolts/anchors for attaching the back channel to the house wall or fascia
- Concrete for columns (must be a minimum of 15MPa)
- Silicone to seal gutter stop ends and downpipe outlet/pop
Yes - in most cases, installing a patio or carport will require building and/or planning approval. Requirements vary depending on your location, so it’s important to check with your local council before starting installation. They can confirm what approvals are needed for your specific site and ensure everything is compliant (and headache-free later).
All Sanctuary® Patio Kit designs are compliant with the relevant structural requirements of the National Construction Code NCC 2022, Building Code of Australia – Volume. Two, Section H, Part H1 and associated Australian Standards.
Prodek® roofing is the optimal choice for Sanctuary® Patios, offering outstanding performance and reliability. Its 50mm high stiffening ribs deliver excellent strength and water-carrying capacity, allowing it to perform effectively at a minimal 1° pitch. Prodek® also features impressive spanning capabilities of up to 4500mm in domestic patio and verandah applications - strong, sleek, and built to handle the elements without breaking a sweat.
The Sanctuary® Patio product range is backed by a 5 year structural warranty and 5 year paint finish warranty. More information on the warranty can be found here.
While the Sanctuary® Patio Kit is DIY friendly, this may not be within everyone's skillset. If installation is required, Stratco can assist with a supply and install solution through an Authorised Outback Dealer.
Yes, you can add extras such as lighting and ceiling fans to your Sanctuary® patio at a later stage. These can be installed onto the existing frame, although additional beams may be required depending on the setup.
If you’re planning to add blinds or screening, we recommend speaking with one of our in-store design team members first. Blinds and screens can introduce extra wind loads, which may require beam upgrades or additional structural support to keep everything compliant and rock-solid.
The Sanctuary® range includes six standard designs for house-attached patios and two standard free-standing options. If these sizes don’t quite fit your space, Stratco also offers a wide range of custom-sized solutions, all engineered and supported by our certified span tables.
