Steel Framing Homes Built with Stratco X‑1® Steel

Stratco teamed up with Kennett Builders on their latest building project for Uniting SA, to tackle timber shortages with our strong and durable X-1 Steel Framing.

Kennett Builders have been building structures all around South Australia since 1914, with this being their latest construction project for Uniting SA. The not-for-profit organisation has demolished their Westminster Village site in Adelaide's western suburbs to make room for a modern 34-bedroom expansion.

X-1 Steel Framing

Kennett had planned a timber structure for their construction, but due to recent timber shortages, they wouldn't be able to complete the project in time so needed another solution. Kennett worked with Stratco to source Australian-made steel framing, allowing the project to start on time with no delays.

X-1 Framing for the Uniting SA Village

Our X1-Steel Framing, engineered by Stratco and Bluescope, has been met with strict standards of strength and durability. Our X-1 Steel Framing is the best possible solution for commercial and residential buildings and is made with 100% recyclable materials making it easy on the environment. X-1 will also remain straight and true with termite and borer resistance.

Maximus Roofing

As a part of the project, Kennett Builders also used Maximus 33 Roofing to complete the build. Maximus Roofing is made from high-tensile steel, for strength and impace resistance, and provides maximum versatility, strength and reliability. Not only can Maximus Roofing be used in a commercial setting such as the Uniting SA Village, it can also be used in residential settings to complement modern, contemporary and traditional designs.

The project has been a major success, with the Westminster Village project completed on time in early 2022.
