Outdoor Week Featuring Stratco's Pro-Beam
We have reached the final week of The Block: Tree Change and wow it has been a massive season. To finish the season with possibly the toughest week yet, the Blockheads are tasked with Outdoor Week. This includes all the landscaping, the exterior of the Stratco Sheds and painting the exterior of the homes. A MASSIVE week not to be missed!
This year, in addition to the Stratco Sheds and Storage already featured, Stratco is providing the Decking Solutions as seen on The Block.
Timber and steel frames have their advantages and disadvantage as structural framing materials, however, The Block always requires the best, so a steel framing system was the obvious solution. Stratco’s Pro-Beam is a sub-floor system that is ideal for external decking, and it is engineered to work perfectly with our Stratco Outback® Patio System.
What is Pro-Beam?
Pro-Beam is a very strong steel beam that features a wide-spanning capability that reduces the time required to install the system and provides more space for underfloor storage if required. Another massive advantage is that Pro-Beam is pre-cut in the factory which reduces the time spent on site preparing to install the flooring system. The same profile is used for the bearers and joists, and the same style of the bracket is used throughout the system.
You may have noticed on The Block at Rachel & Ryan’s house, the Stratco Authorised Outback® Dealers were given a head start to get the perimeter of their structure complete as this takes the most time to build, but once the system is installed, the joists easily fit into place and the blockheads can move onto building the Stratco Patio.

The beams are also able to span up to 7.2m and are available in 2 sizes giving you design flexibility. The wide range of colours meant the pre-painted beams were easy to tie in with the subframe of the patio colour, helping it look as seamless as possible.
