This year National Patio Day is on Saturday 5 December, the first Saturday of Summer and you won't want to miss it. It is the perfect occasion to invite friends and family around to celebrate under the shade of your patio to raise funds for Cancer Council and awareness on sun safety.*
Here are some ideas to help you FUNdraise.
Create your own DIY Giant Tumbling Tower
- Head into Stratco or shop online at stratco.com.au
- Locate the 90x45mm Pine 6m lengths with the help of our staff or the search bar.
- Ask the team member instore to cut 3 6m lengths into 220mm pieces creating 66 pieces in total for a 22 layer Tumbling Tower. If you are shopping online you can only purchase lengths in their supplied size, you will need to cut the lengths into 220mm yourself.
- Locate a 60L Storage Crate or 62L Industrial TUFF Box to store the blocks in.
- If required, purchase some sandpaper or a sander to sand the edges of the blocks to ensure no one gets hurt.
- Proceed to the checkout with the assistance of a team member in store if required or online.
- Take your Giant Tumbling Tower home ready for destruction by your family and friends. Unlimited fun for under $100.
To build the Giant Tumbling Tower place 3 blocks next to each other, then add another layer of 3 blocks on top turned 90 degrees. Repeat this process until you run out of blocks and then you are ready to play!

Create DIY Yard Yahtzee
- Head into Stratco or shop online at stratco.com.au
- Locate the 90x90mm Treated Pine in a 2.4m length with the help of our staff or the search bar.
- Locate a 42L Flexi Tub to store the dice in.
- Purchase Aerosol Coloured Paint for your dice, along with white paint for the dots which can be painted on with a very small brush or a round sponge.
- Proceed to the checkout with the assistance of a team member in store if required or online.
- Now that you're home or the products have been delivered cut the 2.4m length into 8.89cm pieces which will give you a total of 30 blocks now known as dice. Up to 5 people can now play at the same time.
